Dear Board,
Today I received a letter from our HOA with notification of changes in dues and a copy of the board's 2024 budget. What I did not see in this communication was information about the result of the drive for the community to respond and vote on amending the by-laws. Considering the urgency and bulk of communication on this subject, I wonder why we have not been informed of the outcome. I did notice a huge increase ($10,000) in the line item for Legal Fees. Can I assume that this is because the vote passed and we need more legal support in rewriting the by-laws?

Board response for community consumption
Good evening Neighbor,
We received the confirmation on December 18th, from the legal team that the County Register of Deeds has recorded our amendment. The 20 and 21st we posted the information for community consumption on the main page of the MyWynfield.com site, then cross posted to Facebook (our largest online community).
Staged with our governing documents here is the approved and registered amendment.
We are curious as a board, where our community members are receiving their electronic communications: email, Facebook, Nextdoor. If you could share how you receive electronic communications, we are interested in reaching each community watering hole.
For email, we are working out our email delivery mechanisms.
Additionally, you see a $10,000 line item for legal fees. We anticipate need for:
From the website:
The CC&R amendment process has completed successfully. The CC&R changes have been registered with the County Register of Deeds.
The recorded document as filed with the County is staged with our governing documents here.
I hope this helps put your mind at ease, regarding status of our amendment, where the board believes we need to spend our monies, and how we communicate.
We started meetings with committees in December, and look forward to bring more community engagement (via committee). If you have interest in finance, maintenance, pool, tennis courts, or future amendments, please let us know. We are starting to post our committee meetings (and board meetings) on the Hawthorne portal page.

Additionally, you see a $10,000 line item for legal fees. We anticipate need for:
- legal counsel regarding damages at the pool
- additional amendments which can update our current 30 year old Bylaws and CC&Rs
